D.J. was a graduate of St. Ignatius High School and Boston College. He served in the U.S. Navy as a Lieutenant JG aboard the U.S.S. Dyess. He was employed by Ogle Bay Norton Co. of Cleveland. He served as the CFO of C&K Coal Co. and President of Clairon Technical Ceramics, both of Clarion, PA. At the time of his death, he was President of U.S. Group in E. Palestine, OH. Vannice"WILLIAM HENRY "BILL" VANNICE, 58, of Stow, died Wednesday, July 2007 at the Louis Stokes VA Medical Center in Cleveland. He was born Jan. 28, 1949 in Cleveland, the son of Robert E. and Leonore (nee O'Conner) Vannice. Bill served in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Korea during the Vietman War. He was awarded the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Presidential Unit Citation and Sharpshooter and Expert badges. He was a Life Member of the VFW Post 2629 in Aurora, and was Past Commander and a member of their National Championship Silver Rifles competition drill team. He was a Transportation Technician with O.D.O.T. He is survived by his father, Robert Vannice; sister, Martha (Norbert) Wethington, both of Fremont; brothers Patrick Vannice, Mayfield Village, and Neil Vannice, T igard, PR and many nieces and newphews.
